CloseHebes cover a broad range of characteristics from variegated oblong leaves to almost coniferous foliage, but all of them are considered evergreen and almost all bear the signature flower spikes from summer into the fall. 'Autumn Glory Hebe, aka Shrubby Veronica, has fresh green, red-tinged foliage on red stems, forming an upright mound that is topped with deep purple flower spikes throughout the summer and into fall. This variety is hardy down to about 10 degrees, so any extreme cold may cause some dieback. 'Autumn Glory' hebe is beautiful in mass plantings, container planters, and along borders. If grown in a planter, consider moving the container under the eaves during the winter months for extra protection.
