Just when the summer flowers disappear, Wintergreen starts to strut its stuff. Although named for the unique minty taste, nowadays, Wintergreen is more valued for its festive fall and winter red berries and beautiful green and bronze foliage. A North American native, Wintergreen is a welcome addition to slightly shady spots in the garden, as well as in container planters, hanging baskets, and borders.
