This is not your typical fuchsia. Small variegated leaves and red tubular flowers add color and texture to the shade garden.

CloseVariegated 'Lottie Hobby' fuchsia may have smaller leaves and a smaller profile than other perennial fuchsias, but it makes quite the impact in shade gardens. Tidy enough to grow in container planters or hanging baskets and perfect along garden walkways, the cream and green foliage draw the eye, as do the all red tubular flowers that bloom from late spring into the fall. 'Lottie Hobby' is a bit more cold sensitive than other hardy perennials, so if you're growing it in a container planter, consider moving the pot under the eaves in extreme cold spells.
