An unusual hardy fuchsia with large than average fuzzy leaves. Narrow, tubular shaped flowers open to reveal vermillion orange corollas.
Available in store
CloseCompared to other hardy fuchsias, 'Fuchsia Speciosa' is a bit of a late bloomer, but the wait is well worth it. Starting in mid-summer, narrow, tubular-shaped flowers with red sepals open to reveal a vermillion orange corolla. The effect is quite stunning on this two to three foot tall specimen with unusually large, fuzzy leaves, and will be an eye-catching presence along walkways, borders, and in container planters. You'll have to wait in line with the bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds to get a closer look at these gorgeous flowers, but they'll keep on going right up until fall freeze. Hardy fuchsias are fairly low maintenance. Keep them well watered in the heat of the summer, then trim away the dead branches after freeze and before the new growth emerges in the spring.
