Giant Leopard Plant holds off sending up yellow daisy-like flowers until late summer and early fall when all those show-off annuals are just about done.

CloseGiant is the operative word in this plant's common name, Giant Leopard Plant. Also nicknamed Tractor Seat Plant, one can see why when individual rounded, slightly cupped leaves can reach up to 18 inches across. Each large leave is born on a single thick stem, creating an overall rounded mound, usually two to four feet tall and up to three feet wide. In spite of its daisy-like flowers, Giant Leopard Plant definitely prefers shade, especially during the hottest part of the day, and it can handle boggy spots more readily than getting too dry. Farfugium is technically hardy down to 0 degrees, but may die back when the temps drop below 20 degrees.
