Lime green flower bracts with dotted black and yellow eyes liven up the gray-green foliage in the spring. A startling contrast!

CloseEuphorbia 'Black Pearl,' also known as spurge or Mediterranean spurge, is a welcome addition to year-round gardens as a compact rounded shrub, or in container planters. Drought tolerant once established, deer won't eat it, and bees love the spring blooms. 'Black Pearls' flowers are actually inconspicuous; it's the lime green flower bracts surrounding the flowers that delight the eye. One drawback is that the sap can be irritating to the skin, so wear gloves when pruning euphorbias, and don't let pets or little humans chew on it.
