Horsetail's evergreen, vertical foliage resembles bamboo stems, with dark bands at each node. It does well in boggy areas of the garden where nothing else will grow, and looks fabulous around ponds and water features. It's virtually indestructible, spreading by underground rhizomes, so best to keep it contained in planters.
