Dieffenbachias are show-offs in the indoor garden with large variegated leaves and over time, a fairly tall presence, often with multiple stems. While its difficult sometimes to distinguish one variety from another, 'Reflector' is a true standout with deep green leaves that are mottled with random yellow/cream and light green markings. Dumb canes are considered fairly low-maintenance, however, 'Reflector' will do best in a well-lit room with deep but infrequent watering. The plant will tell you if it needs more light, as the variegation may fade in too dark an environment. Because the leaves are so large, they can collect dust, so wiping them down periodically with a damp cloth will keep the plant healthy and looking its best. Dumb canes are considered great air purifiers, but its sap is a known irritant if ingested, so please keep the leaves out of reach of chewing pets or humans.
