CloseLarkspur is a well-loved perennial that is often featured in summer cottage gardens. 'DG Shelby' is a more compact variety, growing 18 to 24 inches tall and wide, with lavender blue flower stalks that are sturdy enough to stand on their own, no staking required. Hummingbirds and bees are drawn to delphinium blooms, though deer are purportedly not. The green, palmate leaves form an attractive mound, making it an interesting addition to container planters as well as in borders.
