Nicknamed earth stars due to the flat rosette form and sturdy broad leaves with zigzagging bands of white and brown.

Product Description

Earth Star, Star Fish Plant, Zebra Plant, whatever you choose to call it, this bromeliad is unique and a must-have for indoor gardeners seeking the unusual. Growing wider than it is tall, 'Zebrinus' will be about eight inches tall and possibly twice as wide at maturity, though that may take a while. Some bromeliads can live as an air plant, but this variety needs its roots firmly in the soil, and regular watering will keep it happy and healthy. 'Zebrinus' will eventually produce little pups at the base and it may even bloom, but as a monocarpic plant, it will die afterwards.
Speaking of pups, this bromeliad is pet-friendly, though teeth marks would definitely hurt the unusual leaves!
