CloseFor those new to houseplants, they may be surprised to find that not all Snake Plants grow vertically in spear-like formation. Case in point, 'Silver Steel' forms a rosette that can eventually reach a foot tall and about eight inches wide. This specimen has the characteristic green and silvery banding of the vertical varieties and is just as tough, able to withstand lower light conditions and occasionally missed watering. New growth appears as offsets at the base of the main rosette. As is true of all other sansevierias, 'Silver Steel' is adept at purifying indoor air and actually prefers a crowded pot.
