The beauty of bunching/green onions is that there is no need to thin them if grown mainly for the green tops.
Available in store
Close'White Lisbon' bunching onion is a tried and true scallion/green or spring onion since the 1700s, growing reliably in varying soil conditions and weather conditions, and can be sown successively throughout the growing season. If left unthinned, the bulbs are pencil thin and can be harvested in about 60 days. If just the greens are to be used, cut them about an inch above the ground, then fertilize with a higher nitrogen, lower phosphorus/potassium mix to promote faster regrowth of the greens. Larger bulbs will form if the seeds are thinned to about three to four inches apart.
