Coleuses provide an amazing array of color, color combinations, and textures, some surreal (think Kong Coleus varieties), and some absolutely breathtaking. Consider 'Trusty Rusty,' with its copper-colored, finely serrated leaves edged in a golden yellow that positively glows. This variety stands tall, ranging from two to three feet in height, and about half as wide, making a statement in shade or sun. It's too cold here in the Pacific NW for 'Trusty Rusty' to survive our winters, but this may be one worth bringing indoors when the temps drop in the fall. Be aware though, that coleuses are not pet-friendly, so keep the beautiful foliage out of the reach of chewing pets.
