CloseThough coleuses have traditionally been considered shade plants, many of the varieties we carry in the nursery can traverse the spectrum from full shade to sun. 'Limewire' coleus can handle either exposure, with its almost frilly, lime-green-edged burgundy leaves serving as the main attraction or as a companion plant in container planters, borders, mass plantings, and hanging baskets. Given free reign, this variety can grow 14 to 28 inches tall and almost as wide, though pinching out the tips will create a bushier, lower growing profile. Flower stalks, if any, will appear later in the summer, and can be pinched out or left for the bees.
