The Kong series of coleus have characteristically large serrated leaves, but the color arrangements are fairly distinct. 'Kong Red' coleus has velvety, dark-red leaves edged in green, and with splashes of bright pink. While some varieties look like a garden party gone wild, 'Kong Red' will add drama and elegance to the shade garden. Averaging 20 inches tall and not quite as wide, this variety can be the centerpiece of container planters, or massed along borders or walkways. All that glorious color is frost sensitive, so consider growing 'Kong Red' in pots that can be brought indoors for the winter.
