Enjoy this plant for its lovely fresh foliage rather than expecting to grow your own coffee beans. We don't have the climate for that!

CloseCoffee is imbibed the world around and Arabian Coffee is one of the most well known sources. What many people don't realize is what an attractive houseplant the Arabian Coffee plant is, with shiny heavily veined green foliage. Coffee plants are particular as to temperature, light, and humidity (just like most tropicals), but keeping the temperature around 60 - 75 degrees, frequent misting, and placement in a well-lighted room may allow this specimen to grow to a shapely small tree, anywhere from four to six feet tall and up to three feet wide at maturity. As to actually producing coffee beans, consider that a long distant dream, as coffee plants take at least three to four years to flower under the best of circumstances. In spite of humans' affection for coffee, this plant is not pet-friendly and could cause digestive issues for furry family members.
