This variety is slow to grow, however, and may stand only four feet tall at the 10-year mark. That very characteristic makes this specimen an excellent choice for container planters, borders, and even hanging baskets, providing a vertical profile of dense branches with bottlebrush-like needles. Deer-resistant and drought tolerant once established, the Upright Japanese Plum Yew is easy to maintain.
