Don't be put off by the narrow profile of celosias when sitting on our nursery tables. These charmers will fill out and up once planted.

CloseHonestly, unless one has seen 'Fresh Look' celosia growing in a planter or the garden, one would be doubtful that such a fragile looking specimen can grow into such a glorious mound of color and texture. A common name for celosia is 'Cockscomb' but that certainly is misleading when describing 'Fresh Look' celosia's profile. 10-inch tall puffy plumes of color rise above dense mounds of fresh green foliage that can spread up to 18 inches wide. Continuous output of new blooms hide spent ones, so there's no need to deadhead; however, the cut flowers are beautiful fresh or dried. Plant this summer beauty in full sun in borders and mass plantings, or use it as the centerpiece for a summer container planter.
