Love the look of California lilac but don't think you have the room for it? Midnight Magic is perfect for smaller gardens and low hedges.
Available in store
CloseWild or California lilac is a great choice for sunny dry gardens, but some varieties may be a bit too big for one's purposes. 'Midnight Magic' ceanothus may be just the solution, topping out around three feet tall, and spreading five to six feet. It has the same small, crinkly, dark green leaves as its big brothers, absolutely smashing deep blue blooms in the spring, and is drought tolerant once established. Excellent as a low hedge or a specimen, wild lilac also fixes nitrogen in the soil, thus benefiting the climate.
