Carrots are one of those root vegetables that we tend to take for granted, but truly delicious carrots are sometimes tricky to grow. Many the gardener has been disappointed to find that their carrots are misshapen, not as big as anticipated, or were attacked by critters in the soil. Carrot seeds are so small, it's hard to space them so once seedlings begin to appear, thin to three inches apart for optimal harvests. 'Scarlet Nantes' is appreciated for being a sweet, cylindrical, nearly coreless carrot - just what we all expect!
