CloseCanna Lilies are a great way to instantly feel like you're somewhere tropical. 'Pretoria' canna lily comes with brilliant orange blooms starting in the summer. Deadheading spent blooms will promote additional flowers into early fall. This variegated specimen stands tall in sunny gardens, reaching five to six feet in height, but spreading only two feet wide. Cannas love the sun but can actually tolerate wet feet, so they are a spectacular choice for planting along pond edges or boggy garden areas. Though deer- and rabbit-resistant, cannas are susceptible to Canna Leaf Rollers that will chew paper-punch-like holes in the leaves. These can be easily treated with foliar sprays or systemic insecticides.
