CloseCalluna, also known as Scotch Heather, is a reliable evergreen addition to Pacific NW gardens. 'Wickwar Flame' Heather is one of the more unusual varieties that goes through seasonal, eye-catching color changes. Bright green in the summer, 'Wickwar Flame' morphs to yellow and orange shades in the fall before taking on coppery/red/orange shades. Adding to the interest are pink-to-lavender blooms in the fall that create a startling contrast to the autumn-colored foliage. Callunas are tough and can withstand freezing cold as well as intense heat, and thrive in poor, but well-draining soil. A light pruning in the early spring will keep this Scotch heather compact and tidy.
