Calathea lietzei 'White Fusion' Quart

Typically native to the warm, humid jungles of South America, calatheas have become a staple in many indoor gardens, adding intricate leaf patterns and sometimes startling variegations to container planters. 'White Fusion' is simply breathtaking, forming an upright mound about 12 to 18 inches tall and wide. The patterns on the long slender leaves are often precise, but appear at random, almost as though an artist were testing out a variety of looks on a single palette. Pet-friendly and relatively easy to care for, calatheas like higher humidity, a thorough watering when the soil is dry, and will tolerate lower light (but no direct sun). Too dark a room may lessen the variegation of the leaves, so don't hesitate to move 'White Fusion' to a brighter room, or place under a grow light, if needed. This specimen, like all plants in the maranta family, will fold its leaves upward at night, then flatten out during the day.
