Basil with a lemony fragrance and flavor. Wonderful in salads, dressings, or any recipes calling for lemon and basil!
Available in store
CloseAficionados of Genovese-type basils may find 'Lemon Basil' a bit of a surprise, as the lemony flavor is more prominent than basil, and the leaves are more textured and usually smaller. That said, 'Lemon Basil' is definitely worth growing, and can be used in just about any recipe that calls for basil. Growth requirements are the same, so give this variety lots of sun, regular water, and a bit of fertilizer. Pinching the tips (and flower buds) will keep the 'Lemon Basil' compact and will prolong the life of the plant.
