Amethyst basil is described as a Genovese type basil, and though the leaves are almost black, they do indeed look and taste like the classic Italian variety. Grow this beauty in a container planter or hanging basket, on its own or with other herbs. Or, if you're not inclined to eat it, consider planting Amethyst basil with other summer ornamentals.
