CloseThe bi-colored, double flowers of Winky Double Columbine have been compared to the old-fashioned petticoats of square dancers, but for those who have no idea what that looks like, some growers compare these blooms to small roses. Enchanting any way you describe them,'Winky Double Columbine' emerge in the spring and begin putting out their upward facing blooms in late spring. 'Winky Double Dark Blue and White' columbine is a swirl of dark blue, purple and white, topping compact mounds of foliage that stand 12 to 14 inches tall and are about as wide. More sun means more blooms, but columbine will produce blooms in partial shade. Aquilegia are known for their ability to self-sow, although the subsequent blooms from the new seedlings may not remain consistent with the original plant.
