Alyssum is one of those dainty, unassuming annuals that can make a big impact when used in sunny borders, mass plantings, and container planters, including hanging baskets. Narrow green leaves are often covered by the blooms, forming a colorful mat about six inches tall that attracts bees and butterflies. 'Easter Bonnet Deep Pink' alyssum has dark-to-light pink blooms that will trail over the edge of baskets and containers, adding textural interest as well as color.  Although alyssum is an annual, it does tend to reseed itself, so don't be surprised if you see it pop up next year.
