CloseThere's a reason why plants have common names and Agastache is a perfect illustration of this. Three people will come up with three different pronunciations of the botanical genus name but anyone can remember Hummingbird Mint, or even Hyssop. The Kudos series of Agastache produces smaller, more compact plants with an improved resistant to powdery mildew. 'Kudos Ambrosia' is a fabulous variety with upright spikes of pink, orange, and cream flowers from early summer to early fall. Place this in a container planter where gardeners can watch the comings and goings of hummingbirds that will literally stand guard over the flowers. The rounded leaves exude a minty fragrance when bruised and is probably the reason why deer avoid it. Hardy down to -20 degrees, 'Kudos Ambrosia' will die back in the fall, returning in the spring.
