CloseUntil 'Brilliant Blue' Lily of the Nile's flowers appear, the plant seems to be just a tidy clump of fresh green, strap-like leaves, ranging in height from 12 to 18 inches tall. They make a lovely backdrop for front-of-the-border summer-blooming flowers, but once this agapanthus blooms, oh, what show-offs! Deep blue flowers with an even deeper blue stripe in each petal tower on stalks up to 30 inches tall, attracting bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Agapanthus does well in coastal gardens as well as xeriscapes, but in any case will look its best in sunny locations. Drought-tolerant once established in the ground, 'Brilliant Blue' agapanthus is an easy-care addition to summer gardens.
