Japanese maples do well in the Pacific NW, and 'Autumn Moon' is valued for its outstanding color from spring until fall.
Available in store
CloseThe Autumn Moon Full Moon Maple derives its common name from shape of its rounded leaves and the red-to-orange coloring that underlies the predominantly green foliage from spring until fall. As is true of many Japanese maples, 'Autumn Moon' is slow-growing (six to nine inches a year) to reach its full height of eight to 12 feet, so does well in container planters as long as it receives regular watering, especially during hot spells. Sun is needed for the best foliage color, but too much afternoon sun may result in scorched leaves. 'Autumn Moon' is a fabulous option for smaller gardens that need a show piece, in the ground or in a container.
