CloseAlthough technically an evergreen shrub in warmer climates, Thompson's Flowering Maple behaves as a perennial here in the Pacific NW, and may even die completely in prolonged cold winters. Growing three to five feet tall and spreading up to three feet wide, this unique plant can be grown in large containers (easier to shelter from cold weather) or planted directly in the ground as a specimen.
