Close'Blue Star' Juniper is indeed an attractive blue-green conifer that stays low and grows slowly to four feet wide. Neither ground-hugging nor upright, this variety forms a rounded mound that works well in rock gardens, xeriscapes, retaining walls, and hillsides. Its slow growth also makes it an attractive year-round conifer for large container planters. Drought tolerant once established, 'Blue Star' needs little pruning and can often be ignored.
